Competition It must be 3 years, maybe longer, since we held a competition. Julian Gregory - thanks Julian! - has sent in a very interesting piece of software as a prize but I'd better explain that it has more novelty value than anything else. It is a copy of Virgin's Vengeance of Excalibur for the PC and for some unknown reason, when you install the English version, part of the text is correct, but part is in German! The game appears to play fine, and I found it hysterical the way it kept swapping from one language to another but playing it to completion might be another matter. In tribute, then, to the playtesters who (one can only wonder how) didn't notice this aberration, I'm going to list 5 game titles in definition form. All of them have been mentioned in this issue of SynTax; just work out which 5 games (or series of games) I'm talking about, send their names to me by post or e-mail by 15th February and you too could have a good laugh at this piece of software. 1. Illegally breaks into a secure container 2. Swear at a piece of land surrounded by water and belonging to a distant relative of man 3. Completely reduced to nothing 4. Mislaid in the fourth dimension 5. Second organ of vision of the onlooker Please enter - it's very depressing when no-one has a go! - o -
