GURPS & Solo Adventures - Information from Lode van de Velde ----------------------- Lode told me that he had found some excellent solo adventure (Fighting Fantasy type) sites. We'd been discussing the solo adventure books and he had also tried Love's Fiery Rapture, the AGT solo adventure. Here's an extract from his e-mail on the topic: Here's the URL for the other solo-adventure I told you about. Actually I just found out there are two downloadable solo-adventures on this site... among lots of other similar stuff. And these are *real* solo-adventures, unlike the 'LoveFire'... because in these last two, there's a full character description and everything. The URL: http://www.holding.pi.net/~bazil/AdvOnl/frames/gurps.htm The two stories are 'Nightcat', as I mentioned already... it's a horror-adventure. The other one called 'Partners' is a fantasy adventure. If you have a problem finding the site with my URL, just use a search-engine for 'gurps+adventure' or so and you'll find it. I found them by typing 'solo+adventure+fantasy' in several search-engines, so this is what I came up with. Okay, back to me! Want to know what GURPS is? Here is the official definition: GURPS stands for Generic Universal Role Playing System, and that's exactly what it is: One set of rules that works for all genres. Over 140 different worldbooks, sourcebooks and adventure books have been created for GURPS. More than 50 are currently in print, and at least a half-dozen more are created every year. The core of the system, the GURPS Basic Set, is in its ninth printing of its Third Edition. More than 1,000,000 copies are in print - not counting foreign editions. Whatever your favorite roleplaying genre might be, GURPS can handle it - they say! Anyway I checked out Lode's site. It contains a load of GURPS adventures, some in PDF format, a few of which are solo ones. Here's the full list.
