Now then. From the beach go east, north and then east again. Look under the bridge and take the gold ball. Continue east and open the door, clean house and get the pouch of diamonds. Now exit the house and go south, enter the mine and go east. Hand the pouch over, head back west and exit the mine. Next head east and look for a bird catching a worm, if this isn't happening then go east or west to find it. Get the worm (yeuch!) and go east, east and let yourself get captured. Wait for the henchman to return to cell and then go north, north and open the door. From here go west and look at the books on the shelf, get book and then look at picture. Walk to the left wall and look at it, then walk to the left shelf and pull the latch. Now go west and get the shovel, east, east, south, west, west over to the right of the pond. Drop the gold ball, catch the frog and kiss it (yeuch!!!). Get the golden ball and go west, west, north and west again. Wait, and when the fisherman goes head east, open the door and offer the pouch to the fisherman. Exit the house, then go west to the end of the pier. Bait the hook with the worm and fish. Repeat. When you have a fish go east, east, east, north then wait. When Cupid shows up get the bow, head west, south and wait for the man. Give the book to him and take the lute. North, north and wait for Pan, play the lute and give the lute to him. Now go west, south and west again to the pier. Save the game. And go west to the island. Search for a peacock feather and take it, save the game. Go east and get eaten by the whale, if you don't, return to the island and try again. When you are eaten, get the bottle, open it and read the note. Now go to the right and tickle the whale up high. You will be ejected from the whale. Next swim north to another island, go to the pelican and throw it the fish. Take the whistle, go to the right (where the wreck is) look inside and get the bridle. Blow the whistle and ride on the dolphin. Next go east, east, north and wander around until the unicorn arrives. Shoot the bow and walk to the head of the unicorn. Put the bridle on the beast and ride it. Back from the castle go north to the waterfall, wear crown and go inside. Take the board, light the lantern and save the game. Now go east, if a troll bothers you, exit the cave and try again. Get the bones near the cave entrance, save the game again and then go south, east, east and walk near the chasm. Put the board down and walk across the chasm. From here go north, east to the pond and go over to the green plants - don't go in the swamp. Jump to the island, however the last plant is too far away so use the board. Play the flute and once the snake is in a trance go to the tree, get the fruit and save the game. Walk back over the board and pick it up, jump back to the cave entrance and go through the hole. South and cross the cavern as you did before. Save game. Now go west, look out for that troll and then north. West, west, turn off lantern, and go to the water outside the waterfall. Now head west, south, west, south. If you meet the ogre, go north and then south 'til he has gone. Open the door and as the dog comes towards you throw the bone. Go upstairs and get the axe, then go downstairs and over to the closed door. Open door, look keyhole, wait, when you hear the ogre coming, look keyhole, watch, open door, walk to hen and take it. Walk to the door and open it, exit the house and go north. From here go east, east to the castle and see what's going on. Return and then go north, north, north, use the axe, and continue north. East into the cave, go around the pot and in between the two witches standing at the wall. Get eye, exit the cave and re-enter the cave, get the scarab, give eye, exit quickly and go south. Now go west, enter the house, go up and then over to the left door. West and walk to cradle. Look inside, then east, south, down and west, save the game. Here you have to read the tombstones and write down what they say. Go to the smallest one and read the tombstone, and dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, (ergh!) you'll find a baby's rattle, if not, restore the game 'cos you dug the wrong grave (your own?!)! When you have the rattle go east, enter the house go upstairs and put the rattle in the cradle. Return downstairs and look at the ghost. Exit the house and head west, save the game and dig five more times. Get the coins and go east to the right door. Look at the woman, go south, down, south, east, save the game. Dig, get the locket and go west, open the door, up, right door, give locket to woman. Now head south, down and west, look at ghost and then east. South, west, dig and get medal. East, open the door and wait. When the ghost appears give medal. Upstairs, right door, climb ladder, look at ghost and climb down. South, downstairs, south, east. Dig, get horse, west, open door, up right door, up, give horse to ghost. Open the chest, look inside, take paper sheets, climb down, south, down, west, west and save game. Now go up, up, sit down at organ and play sheet music. Get the skeleton key. Stand up and save the game. Down, down, east, east, south, east and unlock door. Open it and get the rope. Climb down the rope, ignore the mummy (as you always did, I'm sure, in your childhood) and get the box. Climb back up, west, south, east to castle. Go to Edgar's room and wait for him. Walk to the door and take the rose. Look at it and unlock the door, open the door and save. Go downstairs, east, walk to the door near the henchmen - don't get too close to them - and once inside the kitchen go to the right cupboard. Open it and take all that is inside. West and take the upper doorway east. Save. East, east, up. Go to Lolotte's room and unlock the door with the (gold) key. Open it, go to the right side of the bed, shoot bow and take talisman. Go downstairs, west, open door, get hen and box, save. South, east and down. West, south, west to the stable. Open gate, go near gate from the left side looking towards the right gate, open it then south and down the path. West, west, west, west, west, north, north, west. Save. West, west to Genesta's island, go inside the castle and go to the bed of Genesta. Give her the talisman. Well done! King's Quest IV completed! BMK BMK - o -
