Letters @~Any letters or e-mails received on an adventuring-related topic @~may be reprinted in here unless marked 'not for publication'. ------------------------------------------------------------------ First an e-mail from: Arnie I bought a fantastic compendium set on Sunday. The Ultimate RPG archives. It comes in a wallet with 5 CDs and has 12 classic RPGs. Bard's Tale 1 2 and 3. The Bard's Tale Construction Set, Might and Magic 4, Might and Magic 5, Stonekeep, Ultima Underworld The Stygian Abyss, Ultima Underworld 2 Labyrinth of Worlds. Dragon Wars, Wasteland and Wizardry Gold. There is a 487 page bound manual which gives all setup and controls plus storylines etc that you got in the originals. It is released by Interplay and I paid the princely sum of œ25. That should keep Arnie busy for some time. Haven't actually started any yet as also bought Lula the Sexy Empire. Nuff sed. It also keeps Arnie quiet for a while. @~Glad to hear Arnie has plenty to keep him busy. He and young @~Zeke have been marking time waiting for M&M6 to come out - which @~it should be any day now (can't wait!) ... Sue ------------------------------------------------------------------ @~And now an e-mail from: Lode van de Velde, Japan @~Last issue Lode had told of his search for Boulderdash on the @~Net. Someone (I can't remember who) asked me where he had found @~it and so I asked him for the URL ... Sue ... I found it in no time, really! I just entered 'boulderoid' in my search engine (www.excite.com) and there it was: one minute and I found it. Another 5 for downloading the game. Here's a homepage dedicated to the game: http://hem.passagen.se/davidkh/eget/boulder.html Here's the URL of a place in Russia where I could download it very very easily and fast: http://kiarchive.relcom.ru:8091/pub/msdos/games/play/logic/ There are some other interesting games out there too. (Just move up the tree and hop around...) @~I find the Net so fascinating - do a search and you never know @~_what_ you'll turn up! I haven't used Excite as a search engine, @~I use Alta Vista and, sometimes, Yahoo. They all tend to turn up @~different things ... Sue ----------------------------------------------------------------- @~And finally a letter from a new reader: L Thompson (Thommo), Middlesborough I was a bit taken aback by Steve Provost's comments about Nuts & Bolts. I have been running this programme for a few months now (Ver 1.03) with no trouble at all. However with Ver 1.0 I did have trouble loading programmes which was caused by Bomb Shelter. I contacted Cross Atlantic who told me how to fix this problem by disabling a certain part of Bomb Shelter, not very satisfactory but it did the job. Ver 1.03 has fixed this without disables. Cross Atlantic has now sold this utility to Mcaffey ... nuff said? @~I don't know which version Steve was using. Ver 1s are @~notoriously buggy, whether they are games or utilities ... Sue - o -
