Letters @~Any letters or e-mails received on an adventuring-related topic @~may be reprinted in here unless marked 'not for publication'. ------------------------------------------------------------------ @~I had calls or messages from all the prize winners from last @~issue - here is one of them ... part of an e-mail from Brian Burke, Nottingham Here's a thankyou for my SynTax prize received today - a sort of pewter Faberge egg! Different to the previous figures which it will sit alongside. Please pass my congratulations on to the other winners. Nice to see Diana Griffiths there. It'll give her a bit of a suprise over there in Canada. @~...And to finish this short Letters scetion, some news from John Wilson, Zenobi, 26 Spotland Tops, Cutgate, Rochdale, Lancs OL12 7NX The cat and I have decided to branch out on a new enterprise and with this in mind we are pleased to announce the birth of "ZENOBI SOUND SERVICES" - a small organisation dedicated to the preservation of 'beloved-sounds'. So if you have a favourite 'cassette-tape' or even a favourite 'LP' allow us to transfer them to the latest CD format. For a nominal fee (œ10 for cassette and œ15 for LP) we at ZSS will transfer an 'image-file' of your favourite TAPE or LP to CD, thereby allowing you to preserve them for posterity. Not only that, but in the case of the LP especially we will 'clean-up' the recording - removing as many of those annoying 'clicks' and 'pops' as possible, in some cases restoring the LP to almost its 'original' clarity. So if you fancy letting us loose on your favourite Tape or LP then just bung them in the post - along with sufficient funds to cover the cost - and the work will be done. The 'restored' sounds should be back in your hands within seven days and the results will be music to your ears. If you do not fancy submitting your LPs to the rigours of the postal service then simply make a recording of the LP and send us the resultant tape - we will then convert THAT to the new CD format instead. @~In a separate communication, John also told me that he is @~bringing out a CD of hundreds of Z80, SNA and TAP images of @~Spectrum adventures of all types. All are copyright free and the @~full CD costs œ25 which works out at under 5p a file. Contact @~John at the same address if you're interested - and it's @~reviewed by me this issue with a competition in my editorial @~to win a copy ... Sue - o -
