UNDO - part of Disk 1071

I'm afraid this game totally got the better of me. I just didn't
understand what the writer was on about. Maybe his sense of humour
is something that I didn't grasp or maybe he lives in a different
world.

The game starts with you in a location called SOMEPLACE and you
can go North, East South or West. I chose to go West and found
myself IN THE DARK. There was no way to go other than back the way
I came in and, as I was told that I might be eaten by a syntax
error, I returned to the East. Checking my inventory I was told
that "You already have everything that you need" although I held
nothing. I now went to the South and found myself in a SELF
REFERENTIAL ROOM. There was an eraser here which I picked up and
on examination I was told that the eraser was inside out.
Examining the room revealed some writing on the wall which, when
read, said, "WRITING." I retraced my steps and went North from the
start point into the BINARY ROOM. Here there were a 0 and a 1 on
the floor. I made the mistake of picking up the 0 and then looked
at my inventory to see what I had got. I had got "Nothing" and the
eraser had disappeared.  Starting the game again I went back to
this room and picked up the 1 but not the 0. My inventory revealed
that as well as "Everything that you need" and "an eraser". I now
had a1.

I decided to try the only direction left to me now from the
starting point and went East into BY A HOLE. There are a duck and
a frog here. Examining both reveal that they are the Duck of
Ignorance and the Frog of Knowledge or maybe not. Every so often
either the duck or the frog goes to a bar and orders a Tom
Collins. After a while Tom Collins ordered a duck and a frog. Of
course trying to examine Tom Collins got me the reply that "I
don't know the word Tom Collins." It proved impossible to order
anything at the bar myself or to erase either the duck or the frog
with the eraser. In desperation I decided to end it and typed,
"JUMP IN HOLE." The reply came, "The hole has an exit but not an
entrance." At this point I knew that I was beaten and pressed
QUIT. Typing SCORE told me that I had no points out of a possible
eighty odd but where they can be scored I never found out. It may
be that there is something about this game that I have totally
missed and that it will develop into a good game but unless
someone can help me get past this early point in the game I guess
I shall never find out.
