THE AWAKENING First-time aired (US) : September 21st, 1996 Summary : John Loengard, an idealistic congressional aide, arrives in Washington with his girlfriend, Kimberly Sayers. During a routine budgetary fact-finding trip, Loengard stumbles across UFO information considered off-limits by the top-secret Majestic-12, a black-operations group headed by Col. Frank Bach. A determined Loengard eventually discovers enough to be recruited by Bach as a team member, and he joins Bach in rooting out humans whose brains serve as hosts for early-stage alien life-forms. 2. MOVING TARGETS First-time aired (US) : September 28th, 1996 Summary : Following the Kennedy assassination, Loengard and Kimberly learn about the first alien encounter years earlier at Roswell, N.M., from an eyewitness - but when the couple return to Washington for JFK's funeral, they discover a more sinister alien plan to destroy world government. 3. MERCURY RISING First-time aired (US) : October 19th, 1996 Summary : Sayers' nightmares lead to Cape Kennedy where they discover a "black-ops" version of the space program that nobody's ever heard about. 4. DARK DAY'S NIGHT First-time aired (US) : October 26th, 1996 Summary : Loengard and Sayers track down a lead that brings them to New York City during the height of Beatlemania. They go to visit an old college friend, Chris Weatherly, but are told that he has recently committed suicide. John and Kimberly, trying to make sense of Chris' death, track down his last whereabouts to a research lab that is filling innocent people with subliminal messages via television commercials. 5. DREAMLAND First-time aired (US) : November 2nd, 1996 Summary : "Dreamland," set in Las Vegas, "is really about the birth of Area 51, and how it came to be, and how important Las Vegas is in the plans of the Hive." - Bryce Zabel. 6. INHUMAN NATURE First-time aired (US) : November 9th, 1996 Summary : According to co-creator Brent Friedman, "it explores and explodes the cattle mutilation mythos. This is OUT THERE! Some people will be revolted, others will be fascinated -- I think our take is certainly original. On the major plus side, we bring back RFK for a brief scene, and get a glimpse of Bach's home life ..." 7. ANCIENT FUTURE First-time aired (US) : November 16th, 1996 Summary : In this episode, John Loengard get to see the inside of an alien spacecraft that crashed on Earth two thousand years ago. Loengard has a vision of the future. 8. HOSTILE CONVERGENCE First-time aired (US) : December 7th, 1996 Summary : John and Kim head to Socorro, New Mexico when a police officer reports seeing a flying saucer. While there, they meet up with Jesse Marcel who is in town by request of his old friend and colleague, Clark Balfour, who was with him at Roswell and has since been working at the government site, Area 51. Clark is dying but says that he has plans of the "flying saucer" that they have come to investigate. John and Jesse are determined to get to the bottom of what is happening, but Kim is longing to go home to Denver to attend the wedding of her sister. While John is off with Jesse, Kim takes a bus to Colorado. Her sister is marrying Rob Winter, a lawyer from Washington DC that she has known only a couple of weeks. Kim is suspicious, as well she should be, and her suspicions are confirmed when Steele shows up at the Sayers' front door. 9. WE SHALL OVERCOME First-time aired (US) : December 14th, 1996 Summary : A carload of civil rights activists come across a church, where they hope to find a phone, but find more than they bargained for when one of them is chased from the church by a strange moving liquid. Meanwhile John calls his parents who relay a cryptic message from Mark Simonson, a former employee in Congressman Pratt's office, from Mississippi that he now believes John's claims of UFOs. John and Kim head to Mississippi to look up Mark and investigate the disappearance of three civil rights activists. What they learn when they get there is that Mark Simonson was with the three civil rights workers and that the church they encountered is harboring a Hive headquarters in its basement. 10. THE ENEMY WITHIN First-time aired (US) : January 04th, 1997 Summary : "It's got Loengard strapped for cash and not knowing what's going on, going back to his home - his family - in Fresno and trying to get some money from them... only to find out that you can't go home again, that's a very dangerous place to be. We've got a lot of twists and surprises in that one, but I'd hate to spoil it beyond that." - Bryce Zabel. - o -
