Hints for Gateway to the Savage Frontier From Julian Gregory 1. Be patient. You will build up a party with sufficient experience, eventually. 2. Buy the Knock spell when you can. You will need it in Ascore right at the end. 3. 'Turn' is very useful when dealing with any undead. It makes fights much quicker and sometimes you may not even have to resort to actual violence. 4. There is no need to map anything. The on-screen map is sufficient. There are some one-way doors in certain towns with you might want to record. 5. Use boats to get around early in the game. You will not have so many fights to negotiate, particularly when you are not strong enough to survive. 6. If you print out the journal and rule book be careful about counting the words for the protection. I think that the book which came with the original game had different spacing, so very often what seems to be the correct words are not accepted. 7. There seemed to be no problems in using the ready-made party saved as game A. 8. Don't forget to Modify the party before starting. You cannot do this after any fighting. 9. Having different alignments doesn't seem to make any difference to how the game plays. 10. Look after any unconscious players. If they are dying, ie their hit-points are between -1 and -9, use bandage on them as soon as possible. - o -
