HOTEL NOTELL by R. Baribault
    A text adventure on PCPD 334, STPD 333, AmigaPD 873

You wake up in your hotel room in a sleazy hotel in the morning.
Time passes (slowly!) in this game, so keep track of whether it's
morning, afternoon, evening or night by finding the watch and
"look at watch" to tell the time. Get watch, open dresser, get
note and read it - it says that Bertha's number is 555-6789. Get
pills, go SE to closet and wear clothes. NW,E to Hallway. Read the
sticker on the alarm box, then break the glass (this brings the
clerk upstairs, away from the desk downstairs). E, press button to
enter elevator, press 1 to go to Lobby. Get room key, look under
couch, get pocket change. Press button, press 5, unlock stairway
door with room key.

W,W, unlock your room door (#501). Use phone - 6789. E,E, press
button, press 1. Show note to prostitute or clerk, and you find
that Bertha's new number is 6831. S,E,E,E,E to Centre of Park. S
to Restroom, and look under sink where you find $20. N,E to
statue.  Read graffiti several times - the messages change each
time.  W,W,W,W,W to Roscoe's Bar, and read the poster - there's a
wet T-shirt contest at 4pm in the park. (Move 1-75 is morning,
76-150 mid-day, 151-225 afternoon, 226-300 evening, 301-375 night,
376-400 dawn, then the cycle starts up all over again). Get wine
bottle, E,E,E,E to bum on park bench. Give bottle to bum, get
knife.  W,W,W,N to Lobby. Give $20 to prostitute and she takes you
to the hotel roof. Get key, look down (3 times) to see the fire
escape. D to Alley, get condom, open trash can, get flyer, read
flyer - it's about a protest to be held in the Park. U,E,D,W to
Hallway.

Wait until afternoon (move 150), then go S,E,E,E,E,E to the statue
in the Park. Use condom (blow condom) to make a balloon toy to
stop the baby crying, and Eve will hand over the baby to someone
else and accompany you. W,W,W,W to Sidewalk outside Coffee Shop, N
to Coffee Shop, sit, order coffee. Talk to Eve, and you discover
you must find 3 pieces of evidence against Roscoe, the Police
Chief and the Mayor, and that the password is SAGUARO. S to
Sidewalk. Don't wander about in the Park during the evening as
muggers will probably attack you.  When it is evening (move 226),
go W,W to Bar. Knock on door, say "Saguaro" and you are allowed
in. Insert coin to use slot machine and play until you have won
$50, $100, and a Casino card. E,E,N to Vestibule, read directory -
Mayor's hotline number is 555-7373.

N,E,E,E,E to shrubs, X shrubs, pick berries, X berries. Look
behind shrubs to find a path leading into the Park. Get camera, S
to statue. W,W,W,W,W,N to Lobby, press button, press 5, W, unlock
door, use phone - 555-6831. E,E to Hallway, press button, press 3,
W to Room 301. Knock on door to enter room, then use the camera to
take a photo of the Chief. You get sent to jail. Ask man for robe
and wait for the Sergeant to take you out of the cell. Get bag,
return to the hotel Lobby. Press button, press 5, W and open door.
Use phone (555-7373). E,E press button, press 1. If it is night,
sleep in Room 501 until morning before tackling the next bit.

(From Lobby) S,E,E,E,E,E,N,N,W,W,W,W,S. Wear robe, press button,
use knife to get into receptionist's office. W to Mayor's office.
While wearing robe, use the berries to trick the mayor into
thinking he's killed you (squeeze berries). Open desk, get diary,
read diary. E, press button, press 1, N,E,E,E,E,E,E,E to where Eve
and a solicitor are waiting. You now have the 3 pieces of evidence
they need to clean up the city, so give card to Eve, give camera
to Eve, give diary to Eve. THE END.
