Go!zilla v3.5 Reviewed by Sue Go!zilla is, frankly, one of the most useful shareware utilities I've come across and I would say it is essential for anyone who downloads software or files from the Net. We've all had the frustration of trying to download a program and either losing the line, finding it slows to a crawl, or needing to log off before we've finished the download. All that time is wasted if it's a big file. Not so if you use Go!zilla. In most cases this nifty little program will allow you to resume downloads. All you have to do is double-click the partly-downloaded file and it will be completed. But there's more. When you select a file to download, you can also tell Go!zilla to find alternate sites. It will list these together with details of the speed of each site and the number of 'hops' taken so that you can pick the fastest one. There are other features that I haven't fully investigated. During download, Go!zilla will search the mirror sites and swap from one to another if the speed drops so that it keeps within your specified download speeds. You can schedule downloads for quiet times and the program will log you on, download the file, log off and, if you want, it will even turn off your computer! You can download multiple files with a link leech, or even complete FTP directories, and categorise your downloads into types. Even for the simple use to which I put it, Go!zilla will save oodles of time and, more especially, frustration. Brilliant! Registration of $20 will bring you the latest version without advertising and will entitle you to full support. http://www.gizmo.net/gozilla/ - o -
