Cockroach's Choicest Bits - Vol. 7 - Zenobi Software The next three volumes, 7-9, of the CCB series are now out. As with the previous discs, their contents vary from patches and trainers to cheats and new levels, all of which are designed, say Zenobi, to enhance the original games and to allow you to get 'many more hours of gaming enjoyment' from them. Vols. 8 and 9 concentrate on Half-Life and Unreal Tournament, but Volume 7 has a mixed content. In it there are five basic folders, two cover Quake 3, and one is labelled CM3 ... I have no idea what the program does that's in that, or even what game it covers. The other two folders contain patches and trainers. Ten games are covered in the trainers and 88 in the patches, such as Age of Wonders, Tiberian Sun, Dungeon Keeper 2 and Seven Kingdoms II. In some cases, more than one patch is given for a game (eg Settlers 3 and Warzone 2100.) My only quibble with the CD, as with some others from Zenobi, is a lack of a menu system, proper identification or explanation for some items, especially the trainers in this case. I would be wary of running them blind. The patches, however, are clearly labelled and come with a short Readme which tells you what changes have been made. That minor reservation aside, this is a good collection of enhancements and would be especially useful for anyone who doesn't have Internet access and can't download their own. The CDs cost œ2.99 each including P&P from Zenobi Software, 26 Spotland Tops, Cutgate, Rochdale, Lancs. OL12 7NX Sue - o -
