X-WING COLLECTORS CD Review by Michael Raven Fly the X-Wing! Take X-Wings, A-Wings and B-Wings into difficult missions. The graphics are not bad, but it seems to have problems detecting things, as often you can fire through Tie Fighters at point blank range. The missions are also too difficult for me, and it's irritating having to restore manually your pilot after he's been killed or captured. (TIP: After each mission, copy your pilot to a floppy disk. Then, if the pilot gets killed, you can replace them safely. It should be under something ending in 'PLT'). You view the game as if you are in the cockpit, like a flight simulator. Simple targeting devices are available, and the locking on of missiles and torpedoes is easier than in Tie Fighter. PLAYABILITY 71% Okay, but it can be a struggle. LASTABILITY 91% Very tough. SOUND 82% Plenty of bloops and things. GRAPHICS 69% Not very good. OVERALL 79% A good game, but no match for Tie Fighter. - o -
