Those Pesky Drones
If you buy a facility such as a Recreation Commons, it will be
built before a Drone riot goes into effect. If the facility will
change the balance of Drones, you won't endure the riot. If you
let a Drone riot go on for two consecutive turns, the Drones will
smash a base facility. After three turns of rioting, there's a
chance on every turn that the base will revolt and join another
faction.

Rising Waters
If you're going to pull up terrain or build Pressure Domes to deal
with rising sea levels, be sure to check inland elevations; water
will form inland lakes even if it doesn't connect to a coast.

Stockpile Some Supply Crawlers
Stockpile Supply Crawlers for a rainy day. They don't require
support, and a handful of spare Crawlers is a blessing when you're
racing another faction to complete a coveted secret project.

Wartime Production
Cloaking Formers and Crawlers is an excellent way to keep your
wartime development humming without using valuable military units
for escorts. When fighting breaks out, consider quickly upgrading
these units to cloaked models.
