Moraff's World On Disk 1165 (earlier versions on Disks 171 and 473) Reviewed by Graham Raven Brilliant! Yes, yes I know it's not a state of the art game, the graphics are primitive, and the music is only barely acceptable - which I hasten to add is better than some newer, more 'advanced' games that I could mention! I found this game great fun. It was easy to get started, I didn't die almost instantly and there was lots to explore. I even made some good progress without dying! I'm really taken with this one! One of my ways of weighing up the pros and cons of a game I'm reviewing is to see how long I can - a) survive without dying, and b) how long can I stand playing it before it drives me up the wall! Well after 45 minutes neither of the above events had occurred and I was definitely making progress. Some games give you the distinct feeling that you're getting nowhere fast! Not so this one! I'm ready for another go right now! No sooner said .... Okay, that time I ended up as a zombie wandering about level two somewhere. Never mind, it was still fun! My first character died on level two. Oh well, that was okay for a start. My next character amassed jewels into four figures - ten times the first character's effort and was pushing his luck down on level six when he met his end. Yes, it's always a pain when your character dies, especially so if you can't resurrect them, but once again, all I've lost is perhaps an hour's play and I've learnt a lot more about this game world. The next attempt will be hugely successful (fingers crossed!). I'm enjoying this game a lot and I'm sure it will keep me amused for weeks or months to come. As I said at the start, no way is it an epic nor does it ever pretend to be one, but I started enjoying it right from the very start. It's easy to make some quick progress and you don't find yourself dying every two minutes. Rating: Certainly Earl Grey tea when rather parched! - o -
