NORMALITY Solution By Phil Darke THE APARTMENT Get cushion from bed and take the remote control. Go to the chest of drawers and take the T shirt. Go to the kitchen and take the bird toy, the white paint, coffee cup and the box. Go to the bathroom and take the sharkpoon and the towel. Return to the lounge and use the bird toy with the remote control. Take the flyer and read it. Examine the sofa to find some money and a gizmo, take them. Open the window and walk to the cradle. Talk to Dai. He asks you for a milky drink. Return to the kitchen. Use the kettle then use the kettle on the coffee mug. Use the white paint on the coffee mug. Return and give the drink to Dai. Talk to Dai about all topics. Now go to the plush rest factory. FACTORY Wear the T shirt and talk to the receptionist. Go through the door and into the hospitality suite. Use the water machine and take the cup. Use the sculpture and pick up the cup of coffee. Tiddler appears and takes you to his office. Ask him about everything. Leave the office and turn right. Go into the W. C. Climb onto the toilet and use the air vent in the ceiling. Go down the passage and enter the first opening on the left. Go to the end and pick up the belt. Explore the rest of the passages until you come to an opening with a glass case. Use this to get some debris. Now go back the way you came. Go to the storage area and pick up the battery. Go up the stairs. Pick up the manual and put the debris on the bed next the sleeping man. A waste engineer appears and collects it. Go to Tiddler's office and pick up the current sender. Pick up the radio and take the current receiver. Return to the bed and use the current sender with the battery. Use the current receiver with the bare wires and the battery with sender with the bed. Now put the rest of the debris on the bed. This time when the waste engineer appears he will fall asleep. You can now get to the grinder. Use the control box to switch of the saw blades. Use the conveyor belt to get to the dumpster. DUMPSTER Here you will meet Heather who gives you more information and gives you two tasks to prove that you are not a Norm. She gives you a video which you must play at the TV station. TV STATION Talk to the bouncer, you find that he is scared of rats. MINT MALL Talk to the blind man to find out about his dog and about books. Go into the Mall and look at the statue talk to Norm 2782 to find out how to distract him. Go upstairs to the thrifty fifty shop. Take a hand puppet and return to the TV studio. and give the puppet to the bouncer, but you still can not get in. Use the frozen food on the washing machine and put the rat in the box. Return to the TV station. TV STATION Use the rat on the bouncer and enter the studio. Go into the office and talk to the receptionist and then to Mr. Johnston. He will give you a pass. Use the ID card on the first security door and enter the control room. Put the video tape in VT1 and use the computer next to it. You need a password to run the tape. Return to the entrance and enter the other office. Talk to the man sitting on the floor. He will not help you. Return to your apartment. Use the ID card with the bean splat on the kitchen wall. Return to the TV studio and use the card on the engineer. He gives you his shirt. Take the badge from the shirt and examine it. It has the name Ben Holen Elliott on it, the middle name, HOLEN is the password for the computer. Return to the control room and log on to the computer using the password. Type the command RUN VT2. PAINTING THE STATUE Go to the factory and go to the lockers near the canteen. Talk to the man there to find out about the strike. One of the lockers can be opened. Take the books and go to the grinder room. Use the belt on the extinguisher and use the extinguisher, this will empty it and you can now pick it up. Go to the rear of the factory and use the extinguisher with the paint drum. MINT MALL Give the costume book to the blind man. He will give you some matches. Go to the thrifty fifty shop. Pick up the fruit croppers and use them with the large glider pick up the large glider and use it with the fruit croppers. Pick up a small glider and a yappy puppy. NORMAL OUTPOST Talk to the norm behind the reception desk to find the elevator code to take you to research. Use the elevator and talk to Conrad Smulch. Pick up the scalpel from the desk. Open the glass door and enter the room with the patient in the scanner. Use the scalpel on the straps. He runs wild and smashes out of the room. Leave the room and go to where the patient is lying. Pick up the glass shards and go through the broken window into the lab. Pick up the spanner and examine the fire extinguisher, it is the one you used at the Mall and has your fingerprints on it. Use the glass shard on the extinguisher to lift the finger prints. Examine the extinguisher again to see that the fingerprints are gone. AT THIS POINT IN THE GAME THE PLOT BRANCHES DEPENDING ON WHETHER OR NOT YOU DESTROY THE EVIDENCE. TO DESTROY THE EVIDENCE Examine the grinder to find that it is broken, look at the side panel and you discover that there are two cogs missing. Leave the lab and go through the other broken window onto the cradle. Take the ladder and use the pulley. Go to the factory. Go to the container at the back of the factory and pick up the cog which is lying nearby. Use the ladder to climb on to the container. Use the spanner on the engine to get the small cog. Return to the ordinary outpost and enter the lab. Use the two cogs on the side panel of the grinder and then use the paint samples, yappy puppy and glider on the grinder. Go and talk to Conrad Smulch again, tell him that the patient has escaped. He will tell you to send the patient down the zoom tube and send for another. Pick up the prisoner and use the buttons on the side, the red button opens the door and the down arrow calls a capsule. Put the prisoner into the capsule and use the up arrow to return him to the processing floor. Talk to Conrad Smulch again, he tells you that he can not contact the processing floor by E-mail and tells you to go up there and tell them to send down another prisoner. Use the elevator and go back down to the ground floor. Talk to the norm and ask about the processing floor. He won't tell you the code for the elevator, but it is written on the wall behind him. You need to distract him so you can read it. One of the pillars has a loose slab behind it. If you stand on it the fountain starts to work and the norm suddenly feels the urge to go to the toilet. You can now read the elevator code (1312). Use the elevator to the processing floor. Talk to the norm and he leaves. Press the red button and a door opens. Go in and look at the screen twice. Leader Paul appears. IF YOU DESTROYED THE EVIDENCE You will be sentenced to time in the cells. In the first cell use the bench to find a gizmo. Pick up the splint. Look through the grill in the door to see Saul in the next cell. You now get sucked into the zoom tube, look at the tube which is holding Saul and read the message which he is holding. You now get sucked into another cell. Pick up the scrap of cloth. Use the bench to find another gizmo. Open the food dispenser and use the fork and spoon on the gizmo. You will now be sucked into another cell. Read the next message from Saul. Use the bench again but this time you can't break it so use the plank on it. The gizmo gets broken. Write a note to Saul by using the scrap of cloth with the gravy drip. Use the splint with the cloth to pass the message through the grille in the door. Next time you are sucked into the zoom tube read Saul's message again. There is another gizmo in the toilet. In the next cell get the bracket from the wall. Wait until you are back in the cell with the gravy drip, open the food dispenser and use the bracket on the loose tap. The cell gets flooded and the guard takes you to the toilet. Get the gizmo from the toilet cistern. You are sent back to your cell. Next time you are sucked into the zoom tube everything goes up in smoke and you can make your escape. IF YOU DID NOT DESTROY THE EVIDENCE Leader Paul sentences you to 5 weeks guard duty in the pens. Once there you find a camera crew, who are making a documentary recording your every move. There are a number of hidden cameras which you must destroy in order to rescue Saul. Go to the Norm Communal room. Look at the notice board and take the out of order sign and the two pieces of paper. Open the bureau and take the paper. Take the paper from the bin. Read all four pieces of paper and note the codes. Open the door marked zoom system control. There are four cameras in here, one on the sign, another in the shadow under the display and one in the corner near the light. Take these three to get the fourth. Use the codes on the paper marked no longer operational. U = up D = down and the last figure represents the position of the lever. Once you have set these press the engage button. You get zapped and end up lying on the floor. From here you can see the fourth camera under the display, take it. Leave the room and open the food dispenser and dispose of all four cameras in the steam cleaner. Return to the control room and set the controls with the emergency evacuation code. Leave the room and head for the elevator to the roof. DESTROYING THE SUBSTATION Go to the TV shop in the street outside your apartment. Pick up the micro TV from the counter. Talk to the man and ask him for the remote control. When he goes into the store room go behind the counter and take the key and lock him in. Use the cardboard box to reach the hatch in the ceiling. Pick up the mallet and use it on the wooden slats. Walk along until you fall through a hole into the sub station. Go up the steps and take the hanging teddy to get some wire. Pick up the teddy and its eyes fall out. Go back down the steps and pick up the purple wire. Use the eyes on the slot in the box and press the button. Take the glowing light bulb. Use the coil of wire with the bulb pins. Open the control box and use the short wire on the panel. Now use the long wire on the board. The substation blows up. You end up back in the street. There is a norm truck here. Go back to the den and talk to Heather. RESCUING DAI Go to the Mall and get the rubber pipe and return to the street. Use the rubber pipe on the air vent in the wall near the truck. The norms open the rear doors of the truck allowing you to free Dai. THE POLLUTOTRON Heather tells you that blowing up the sub station did not have the desired effect and that they now want to destroy the pollutotron. She tells you what is needed to achieve this. Go to the mall and pick up the matches, plank cracker and the rope from around the waffle. Now go to the factory. Use the rope planks and drums to make a raft. Use the raft with the river. Now get the oxyacetylene torch and use it with the container doors. Get the cylinders and put them on the raft. Now use the raft and float down to the docks. Now watch as the missile destroys the pollutrotron. THE STADIUM Saul remembers that he has a back up brain in the lab under the stadium. Go to the stadium and use the switches near the entrance to get rid of the norm guards. Enter the stadium and take the goggles from the crate. Go back to the sewer shaft and go down. Go straight along the shaft until you come to a T junction, turn right. Keep going until you find a brick. Keep going until you come to a hole in the left wall of the tunnel. Use the brick in the hole and get the batteries. Use the batteries with the goggles and wear them. Go back the way you came and take the first right. Use the guitar on the bars. Continue and take the next right. Demolish the wall here with the guitar. Return to the cross roads and turn right. Take the next right and use the guitar to smash the wall here. Take the roof brace the roof caves in and a crate falls down. Turn around and go straight ahead. Look for a sign on the wall, which reads access. Take the next left there is another wall here but you can't break it with the guitar. Return to the sign and use the brace on it, this will open the wall, revealing the entrance to Saul's lab. Rip the poster from the wall to reveal a hole. Go through the hole and pick up the axe. Return to where you found the roof brace and use the axe on the crate. Take the suit from the crate and return to the lab. Go back through the hole and use the suit with the microwave machine to get the brain. Leave and return to the first wall you broke down, picking up the roof brace on the way. Use the roof brace with the elevator doors and enter the elevator. Now sit back and watch the end sequence.
