Editorial Since the last issue, the weather has been so good (for a change) that it's been hard to stay indoors and switch on the computer. So I wasn't surprised that I didn't have many reviews sent in during the last two months. I always put out a little plea for reviews, but this time it's getting desperate as I have very few in hand. SynTax still has about 70 regular readers, a slight drop over the last year, but there's a point at which it isn't viable, financially or time-wise, to keep the mag going. I think it will be shortage of reviews that will be the final nail in its coffin. Solutions, hints and articles aren't too much of a problem. The net is a good source if there's any gaps. But reviews have to come from the readers otherwise SynTax loses one of its main features. So, please try to send reviews in of games you've played. They don't have to be long, though they can be if a game really moves you. I know it's more interesting to just finish a game and go on to the next, but it doesn't take very long to put your impressions down on paper. And it really would help me when I put the mag together. I decided to get a DVD drive and Voodoo card early in September but from talking to the technical chaps at PC World, they made me think that I should upgrade the motherboard and chip before buying any other new hardware. Alex and I don't believe them so I'm going to go ahead and soon I should have everything up and running (touch wood). In the mean time the highlight of my adventuring month was finding the demo of Traffic Giant, previewed this issue. Since writing the piece, the game was released and it came today from ComputerMate via the Net. So look out for a review next issue. I think that's about all I have room for. I'm hoping that by next issue I'll be able to show you a demo of the proposed HTML version of SynTax, and the web site should finally be up and running. Too little time ... See you in November!
