Letters @~Any letters or e-mails received on an adventuring-related topic @~may be reprinted in here unless marked 'not for publication'. ------------------------------------------------------------------ @~Following on from last issue with John Tobin's problems with @~running AGT games, here is the reply I got from him after @~sending him Mo-slo. From John Tobin, by email Many thanks for Mo-slo programme, unfortunately it does not support some of the files used in Witchfinder. However Barbara Gibb has sent me a programme called SLOWDOWN which is more flexible, and will run Witchfinder in its default mode (you don't need to know how to set the programme up). The problem is due to processor speed as I have now set my computer up as a dual boot system and can run either WIN95 or WIN98, and the problem is the same on both systems. @~I've downloaded SLOWDOWN from the Net and it's on this issue's @~disk. I hope you all find it useful. ------------------------------------------------------------------ @~Some time ago, Bill Jenkins ordered a solution for Lighthouse @~and he later sent me this letter: From Bill Jenkins, Cramlington While playing Lighthouse, and still being stuck at the safe, despite having your hints, I was obliged to call the distributors for the answer. They were extremely helpful and indeed offered to send me the complete walkthrough which I declined. The solution is to turn the dial clockwise several times, stopping on 5, anticlockwise to 18 TWICE, then clockwise to 28. I fail to see why they should make that so complicated for an old codger like me. It was the same for the bookcase in Blackstone Chronicles. I was pulling my hair out, and then could have kicked myself for not seeing the solution right before my eyes. @~Thanks, Bill, I've updated the solution in my files. Sometimes @~playing adventures can be very frustrating. My forte is missing @~exits! ------------------------------------------------------------------ @~Finally, I had a message left on my answering machine ... From Jenny Perry, Hampton I've had a really good idea for SynTax. I know you have web sites listed once in a while, but they only stay in there for one issue. How about having a little list of recommended sites like Mr Bill, CD-Access and Games Domain and I know other people are telling you other sites as well. It might be a good idea so that everyone knows all the brilliant sites that there are out there which are games related. And it wouldn't take up much space because it would just be web addresses. @~Great idea, Jenny. I've started the site this issue. If you have @~suggestions for inclusion, please let me know. - o -
