DESERT STRIKE Review by Michael Raven Fight the evil forces of Kilbaba! Set in the Middle East, and very similar to the Gulf War in many ways, you fly a Apache helicopter, rescuing prisoners of war, destroying headquarters, locating enemy commanders...the list is endless. It has a bit more depth than the sequel, Jungle Strike, as this has a lot of things you can do that are not on your 'missions'. For instance, you will sometimes find a building with a sparkle on one of it's windows. Blast the building apart and one of your people gets out. Also you see battles between marines and enemy soldiers - shoot the enemy and pick up your people! Although the graphics are poor now, they are sufficient to show what you need to do. PLAYABILITY 81% Sometimes a little easy to make a mistake, and difficult to aim. LASTABILITY 83% Slight danger of you giving up before you complete it. GRAPHICS 79% Out of date, but still effective. SOUND 83% Still nice and chunky. OVERALL 88% Good, but I don't know if you'll want to play it all the way through. - o -
