SANITARIUM - part 1 Solution by Peter Clark Chapter One - The Tower Cells. Your goal is to escape from the Tower. Leave your cell and go to the left of the screen. Pull the switch to turn off the alarm. Go to the right and enter the cell that is closest to yours. Take the towel that you see there. Now climb the stairs and talk to everyone that you see there. Use the towel on the power cable and you will slide across to the Tower without being electrocuted. Open the door and enter the Control Tower. Look at the drawer and the safe. Now plug the cable into the appropriate sockets on the video machine using the matching colours. Click on the power button, press play and watch the video. There will be a short circuit and you find that the safe flies open. Take the key that you see inside. Look at the drawer again and read the files. Now leave the Control Tower and press the button by the bridge to extend it. Go to the statue and look at it. You will see a locking mechanism at the base of the statue. Use the key on the mechanism and watch the cut scene that follows. Chapter Two - The Innocent Abandoned. Your goal is to find and kill "Mom." Talk to Billy and Jessie then go left and talk to Meg. Look at the inscription in front of the church then go inside. Read all of the files that you find. Return and talk to Billie and Jessie again. Play Tic-Tac-Toe game until you win. Now go to the Town Hall and read the files that you discover here. Cross over the bridge and enter the house. Read the newspaper article and the diary. Now go south to the Beach and talk to Timmy. Leave the beach and find your way to the General Store. It is opposite the Cemetery. Talk to Marty, the boy playing with the red ball outside. Cross over the road and enter the Cemetery. After the cut scene, look at the head stones and talk to all of the kids. Dennis, Derek, Eileen, Lumpy and Marcus. Enter the building and pick up the crowbar. Talk again to Dennis and play hide and seek with the children. You must find all five of them. They are hiding behind the church, up the tree behind the church, under the bed in the house across the bridge, behind the barrels near the building opposite the schoolhouse and in the schoolhouse. You must use the crowbar on the schoolhouse door to get in. Return to the centre of the village and talk to Dennis. He will tell you about his secret weapon. Talk to Eileen, the girl near the statue, and take her shovel. Go back to the Cemetery and use the shovel on the head stone of C. Driscoll. After the cut scene, talk to Dennis again. You will receive the keys to the General Store. Use the keys to get inside the General Store and take the empty petrol can. While you are there, read all the files that you can find. Go outside and take a ride on the toy pig then take it. Now go to the Broken Bridge and use the toy pig to jump to the other side. Talk to Maria who you will find sitting near the bridge. Now click on the lock by the gate. You need to find the combination. The clues are on the panel in front of the Church. Psalm 4 - Verse 51 or the Tic-Tac-Toe games lost by Jessie. Meg won 4 times, Eileen 5 and you won once. Now input 451 to open the gate. Now is a good time to save your game. Enter the Pumpkin Patch and take the scythe that you will find near the old truck. Make your way through the patch using the scythe to kill the birds. Time consuming but not too difficult. When you arrive at the centre of the patch you must avoid the Pumpkin Man and destroy all of the pumpkins using the scythe. When you have done this, click once on the Pumpkin Man to kill him. Open the gate and look at the old tractor. Open the tractor and take the jumper cable. Now enter the Barn and watch the cut scene. Now talk to "Mom." Before leaving the Barn, pick up the wrench on the ground. Go back through the Pumpkin Patch and talk to Maria again. Go to the Town Hall and use the wrench on the rubber hose outside. Now go to the Church. Outside you will find a stone on the ground. Pick it up and throw it at the church bell. This will bring Timmy away from the Beach. Go to the Beach and pick up his fishing rod. Now go and look at the wrecked car. Unscrew the petrol cap and use the rubber hose on it. Now use the petrol can on the hose to get a full can of petrol. Leave the Beach and go to the bridge near the Town Hall. Get the metal cross that is sticking up from the river with the fishing rod. Return to the Pumpkin Patch and examine the power generator outside the Barn. Now use the petrol can on the generator. Put the metal cross on the metallic rock that you will find near the generator. Connect the jumper cable to the generator then connect it to the metal cross. Watch the resulting action! When "Mom" is dead, leave the Barn and talk to the girl near the bridge to complete this chapter. Chapter Three - The Courtyard and Chapel. Your goal is to repair the fountain. Talk to all of the patients and the nurses. Go to the fountain and talk to the petty girl there. Watch the cut scene then enter the Chapel. Talk to Norman and to the Preacher. The preacher will give you a "holy" mission. Go to the house on the right of the screen and talk to Dr. Morgan. Pick up the four records that are on the table. Select the one labelled, "Belladonna in A flat." It is the red one. Put it on the record player and watch the reactions of the old man. Leave the house and go to where the old man is. On the bench you will find the Holy Symbol. Pick it up and take it to the Preacher. He will give you an old broom! Leave the Chapel and talk to everyone again. When you have done this, return to the Chapel. Now use the old broom on the control box that is near Dr. Morgan's House. You now have to solve the Fountain Puzzle. It is quite easy as all you have to do is to arrange the pipes so that the water goes to the third one and not to any of the others. When you have done this, pull the lever. The fountain is now full so return there and talk to the pretty girl again. Look at your reflection in the water and watch the cut scene to end the chapter. Chapter Four - The Circus of Fools. Your goal in this chapter is to find Sarah's doll. You play this chapter as a small girl. After you arrive on the island, talk to Antonio Baldini, the circus ringmaster. He will give you a free pass for the Squid Squash Game. Go to the little wagon on the left and look at the bottles on the ground. Go inside the wagon, talk to Wilber Smith. Don't worry about the needles yet as you will get those later. Leave the wagon and go to the circus stalls. Talk to Carl Rice and play the Squid Squash game. You will win three tickets. Play the skittles game and you will get three more tickets. After the game one of the skittles will be on the ground for you to pick up. Play some more games and make sure that you have at least ten tickets before stopping. Now go to the right and talk to the little boy, Sean. Pick up the oilcan near the fire then talk to Colin and Martha O'Leary. Go into the big top and talk to everyone there. Meano Geno wants to prove his love for Jennifer so tell him to go and get a tattoo. Jennifer Lang, the fire-eater, will offer to teach you to fire eat but you need some fuel so return to the tattoo wagon and get some from Wilber Smith. While you are there, you can pick up the needles while he is looking the other way. Return to the big top and let Jennifer teach you her trade. Afterwards, she will also give you one of her batons. Lefty, the juggler wants a new challenge so give him the skittle and, in exchange, he will give you a red ball. Leave the big top and go to the Beach. Talk to Zippy and look at the freak twins, Matt and Ashley. Now talk to Stuart Limpkin and give him five tickets to enter the freak beach. Talk to Pret- zool and to Timber the wolf creature. You can use the needle to pick the lock and open the cage door to free Timber. Go to the left of the beach and use the oilcan on the lever. Pull the lever and go to the roundabout. Take a ride on the roundabout then continue left and look at Spanky the clown. Put the red ball on the clown and watch the cut scene. Talk to Oliver Tweed and give him five tickets to enter the House of Horror. After the cut scene you will find a broken piece of glass. Talk to the Leprechaun then climb the stairs and enter the tent Ask Lady Ivanna to tell your fortune and you will be teleported back to the big top. Talk to everyone in the tent again then go back to where you saw Sean. Look the hole in the ground and watch the cut scene then jump inside to get to the cave. The Cave. Put the mirror on the dry twigs and use the baton on the fire. Now you can enter the cave. You must go through the water avoiding the falling rocks and the tentacles in the same way as you did with the birds in the Pumpkin Patch only this time you use the baton as a weapon. When you get to the end you discover a monster. You must use your fire breathing skills here to kill him. Three hits on his eye will finish him off! Leave the cave and you will find yourself in the Mansion. The Mansion. Look at the walls then climb the stairs and watch the ghosts. Enter the Kitchen and watch another scene with ghosts. Leave the kitchen and go to the First Floor. Go north and take the brass key in the Bedroom. Go down and use the brass key to open the clock. Set the clock to 6.00pm. Enter the Study and take the silver key and the videotape. Go back up the stairs again and watch the tape with the video recorder. Go left and use the silver key to open the door to the steps up. Go up to the Second Floor and take the gold key near the big bear. Move to the trampoline and use it to jump to the other side of the cases. Use the gold key to open the trunk and get the doll. Leave the room and follow Max. He will lead you to another bedroom where you will be able to return the doll to Sarah to complete the chapter. @~More next issue - o -
