Take a Refresher Course
Even SimCity 2000 veterans should read the tutorial. There are
enough subtle changes that invalidate some old strategies. Also,
the garbage dilemma is another new feature that you need to deal
with early on.

Seaports: Size Matters
When zoning for your seaports, be sure to make them at least 5 x 8
squares, or even larger if there is sufficient demand for
industrial zones. Seaports that are smaller than this minimum size
won't develop.

Start Out Slow
Take a lesson from the tortoise and the hare and be sure to start
out slow. Never outpace your expected tax revenue growth. Remember
that you're building a city--they take patience and time to grow.
