My boss at work has just bought a new PC with it on and says it's OK, but whatever he tries to do it keeps asking if he wants to connect to the Internet which he finds a nuisance. I think it must be designed for people with broadband Internet access who don't have to mess about waiting ages for the modem to dial, connect, login with the ISP etc. I would be interested to know if I could network in my existing 98SE PC with a new one running XP and keep the 98SE machine as the network portal, probably not, knowing my luck! Opinion seems divided, some articles I've read don't have a good word to say for it, others say it's OK on a new PC but a nightmare to upgrade. It is supposed to be more stable, but to be honest I've always found my 98SE to be more stable than the NT I use at work so how stable is stable? I would be interested to know what experiences real people have had with it. @~Can you help Julia? If so, please email her. I'm quite happy @~here with Me on one machine and a dual boot of 98 and 2000 on @~the other. That seems to cover ALL my software. But can anyone @~give an opinion on XP? Please write in and let us know. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Secondly, a request for help from: Richard Press, by email - rpress@lplsystems.com I have been looking for a long time for one particular text adventure game: The game was titled "Hide, Hide, the cows outside". The title was taken from an old Abbot and Costello routine. The theme was a western cowboy adventure. I first saw the game in Softside, or one of those other magazines, in around 1982. I had a version typed into an Atari 400 and enjoyed it very much. The disk for that has long since perished. I would like very much to find this game for the PC. @~Can anyone help? If so please contact Richard or myself. - o -
