Editorial Welcome to Issue 77 of SynTax. Sorry it's a bit late. I aim to get the magazine out on the 15th of the relevant month and it's already the 15th of March, so I know there's not a hope of hitting the right date this time. The problem with working as a freelance journalist is that work often comes in with a short deadline and everything else has to be dropped while it's done. Then it's a mad rush catching up with other things which have accumulated while I've been doing that! I hope you'll enjoy the magazine now it's here. The SynTax website has been very lively since last issue and getting a few number of visitors each day. I've also had several enquiries via email, from people looking for gaming help or an elusive game. That's been very gratifying because it shows people haven't just arrived at the site and moved on, they've actually had a good look round or have arrived with a purpose. What's more, we've gained two new readers. It's also showing up well on the major search engines so I must have done something right with the keywords. I'm trying to keep the site interesting with regular updates and would like to add some readers' solutions etc. If you have ANY objections to me putting your work up there, please let me know. If I don't hear, I'll assume it's ok. Otherwise it'll be all my stuff which would be VERY boring! What else? I loaded up a demo of Pizza Connection 2 which was good fun and will do a write up for it next issue. I'm still playing Poseidon: Master of Atlantis. If you've ever been tempted to play a strategy game but not known which one to try, I'd thoroughly recommend Zeus, the original game and, especially, Poseidon, its add-on. It is *so* entertaining and great fun to play. Some strategy games can get boring after a while but I've only had one episode where I got a bit fed up trying to reach one of the goals; I just couldn't get the housing requirement. I wish now that I'd started writing a full guide when I began to play it, rather than odd hints. I've no doubt that eventually a twin pack of both games will be released - all I can say is, when you see it, grab it before someone else does! I'm not sure what I'll play when I finish Poseidon. Mum's been engrossed in Might and Magic 6 for the last umpteen months - I might have another go at that. Wonder if I can find my saves ...? No, I think Dungeon Master Java is calling - see Alex's News section this issue. Until May's issue, enjoy the better weather and please keep sending your contributions. This year's SynTax award will be made next issue. Sue - o -
