Letters Any letters or e-mails received on an adventuring-related topic may be reprinted in here unless marked 'not for publication'. ------------------------------------------------------------------ @~This warning came in just too late to be printed in the last @~issue but is still well worth knowing about. It's one which might @~have caught me out as I would trust things with Microsoft's name @~on it. Part of an email from Dave Barker, London Hi Sue, In case you don't know there's a virus doing the rounds that claims to come from Microsoft. If you receive a message from "Microsoft Corporation Security Center" with the subject "Internet Security Update" DO NOT OPEN IT!!! Microsoft do not distribute any security patches via e-mail, so any you receive are bogus! For more information, check http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.gibe@mm.html @~For those without web access I've copied the relevent bit from @~Symantec's article into our Articles section ... Sue ------------------------------------------------------------------ And some info by email from Laurence Creigton, South Africa I'm clawing my way through Indiana Jones, now on chapter 14 (of 16). It is simply fantastic, but my problem is I only get to play it for about an hour a day. Not sure if I told you, but it's also incompatible with Windows 98. It's impossible to get past the Ice Creature at the end of Chapter 3. There is a patch on their website (Lucas Arts) which rectifies this bug, the downside is that you have to restart the game - previous saves are invalid! I'd emailed their support twice before I discovered the patch, and they suggested changing the resolution and number of colors. I have now added support to my list of oxymorons. Maybe you could make this known in your magazine... @~It's well worth knowing things like this *before* you start a @~game! - o -
