Mystery House Walkthru by Henrique "Snoopy" Vianna Thanx to Megan Peard (morgause@ozemail.com.au) In this walkthru, I list only the minimum (I guess) moves you need to finish the game. So, if you follow this straight, you'll miss much of the story and there will be some places never visited. Whole words on capital letters represent the command you need to type in the game. The vocabulary of this game is quite restricted and this can often be the reason of you being stuck. Have fun! "You are in the front yard of a large abandoned Victorian house. Stone steps lead up to a wide porch" U (up) OPEN DOOR ENTER DOOR S (south) GET CANDLE N (north) W (west) You're in the kitchen now. LOOK SINK and GET the BUTTERKNIFE. Get also the matches from the cabinet and the pitcher from the refrigerator. Open the tap (WATER ON) and fill the pitcher up (GET WATER). When it gets dark and you can't see, LIGHT your CANDLE. E (east) U You're now at the junction of the east/west hallway with the north/south hallway. You can explore the rooms on the east/west hallway to find some tracks of the murderer, but there are no needed objects to get there. N U You're in the attic. GET the HAMMER. Go back to the kitchen, MOVE the CABINET and BREAK WALL. ENTER HOLE D (down) S You're in the basement. GET the KEY. There's another hole in here. ENTER HOLE. N U At the top of the pine tree, LOOK in the TELESCOPE. Now get DOWN, DOWN. This forest can be quite annoying if you get lost... just go N, N, N, N and then U You'll need to OPEN the kitchen's DOOR to get back into the house (UP again) E S Now you're in the dining room. There's a highly inflammable rug in here. Just LOOK around. You'll start the fire. No panic. POUR WATER on it. Ha! One more hole! LOOK HOLE and GET the small KEY. Get outta here, and go to the attic again. Now you should be seeing the trapdoor at the roof. But wait a moment.. first we should ENTER the DOOR at the right. UNLOCK the CHEST. OPEN CHEST and GET the GUN. ENTER DOOR back to the attic, OPEN the TRAPDOOR and CLIMB the LADDER. Oh, oh... here is the murderer. It's Daisy! And there's a note in here too, but she won't let you take it. So, you'll have to KILL DAISY ... WITH GUN. Now GET the NOTE and read it. It tells you that the jewels are in the basement. ENTER the TRAPDOOR back to the attic, go DOWN and NORTH. ENTER DOOR and go EAST. GET the TOWEL from the bathroom. Here in the study there's a shortcut to the basement. USE BUTTERKNIFE to loose the picture. GET the PICTURE. PRESS BUTTON and ENTER WALL (I love secret passages!) :) Go DOWN and DOWN and you're in the basement. Now, REMOVE ALGAE, GET BRICK and GET the JEWELS!!! To finish the game, just get out the house. You'll have to unlock the front door, open it, get out and go down the stone steps to receive the ending message. NOTE: Actually, you don't have to kill Daisy to get the jewels, once you have the bright idea of wiping the basement wall to find the place where they are hidden. But, curiously enough, if you don't kill her, the game is not finished. Quite violent isn't it?? :) Today, this game would probably be rated R! :) OTHER FUNNY (AND UNNECESSARY) THINGS YOU CAN DO: GET the DAGGER from the first room at east in the east/west hallway. You won't need it, unless you decide to... KILL JOE, the gravedigger at the cemetery, and GET his SHOVEL. Later, I found that were no use for the shovel either... poor Joe!
