SimCity 3000 hints Seaports: Go Deep When planning a seaport, be sure to place it near deep water. If the water is too shallow, ships won't be able to travel through the waterways to reach your port. Best Power Plants When starting a city in 1900, your best choice is a toss-up between Coal and Oil. Coal is much more efficient, but also pollutes the most. Later on, Nuclear plants are a good choice as long as you don't overwork them. They're also much cheaper and more efficient than Solar or Microwave power plants. Use Fusion power as soon as it's available and you have the necessary funds; although not as cheap as Coal and Gas power, it produces very little pollution. Beware the Toxic Waste Disposal Factory Be sure you know what you're getting into if you're ever tempted to build the Toxic Waste Disposal Factory. No matter what you do, it will pollute your water system. Your population will drop and you will get many complaints, regardless of how far away you build it. It may be a good source of money, but the side effects can damage both young and old cities. - o -
