Warcraft II (Hints & Tips) These tips are for ORCs, some of which can also be used for human strategies. Never leave your base unattended. The enemy sometimes makes sneak attacks. Attack only when you have a force of about 12-30 men. The more men you have, more farms have to be built, but it also means a BIGGER attack force. Attack farms first, so the enemy cannot produce much men. Easy to destroy too! In early levels, build grunts and axethrowers. Later, you should build Ogre-Magis and Berserkers. Generally you should have one axethrower/beserker to support three ogres or grunts. Upgrade weapons and shield only when you have enough money and time. Remember, brute strength and large forces are better than upgrades. Juggernauts are slow, but their powerful guns make them a force to be reckoned with. Send one juggernaut and two destroyers to support it. Start by building farms, Barracks, Ship Yards, Foundries, Lumber Mills, Refineries, Blacksmiths (In Order). Then upgrade when you have enough gold, lumber and oil. Death Knights are useful because they can summon Skeleton armies which are free. Use Sappers to destroy castles and small numbers of archers and footmen. The air balloon guys are useful for mapping your surroundings. When you have a small army, attack one building at a time. If you have a large army, divide them and attack from both sides. - o -
