Pick up the pillow from the bed then leave the house and make your way around the house to the garden. Pick up the resin from under the window and the sap from the tree. Take the long johns from the washing line. You can now see the crank handle for the lift on the side of the washtub. The long johns are no further use. They were just hiding the crank handle. Now go to the lift and use the handle with the winch. It will break. Go inside the house and open the cabinet. Take the toiletries case. Inside the case is some hair grease. Take the biscuit ingredients from beside the mixer and combine them with the sap, the resin and the hair grease in the mixer. Use the resulting glue on the crank handle. You can now leave the house and go down in the lift. You find yourself in the Town Square. Princess Michelle will talk to you about disguising yourself as the king. She tells you what you must find to make the disguise. When you have finished you can talk to Saul the shoemaker. Make sure that you ask him about the PVA and find out how many members it has. Ask him if he knows what happened to your grandfather. When he tells off the sock, you may leave the square and find the boy that is crying. Talk to him and you will find out that he has taken a false nose from the toy machine. This is one of the items needed for your disguise. He also tells you about Mad Pete. Go to find him in the tower. The Tower. Keep talking to Mad Pete and make sure that you tell him that you can see approaching Vikings and ask him about his cannon. Eventually he will brandish a large sword. When you get the opportunity, pick up the sword and use it to push the loose stone on the wall in front of the cannon. It falls down below smashing the toy machine and allowing the sad boy to get the slingshot that he wanted. Go back down the tower and pick up the false nose that the sad boy dropped when he collected his slingshot. You also find a bottle of bubble bath. Return to Saul, the shoemaker. Saul, the Shoemaker. On the stand you will find a tin of shoe polish. Pick this up and use it with the sock in your inventory. Give the resulting black sock to Saul who will give you a pair of pink slippers in exchange. Now go to the Docks. The Docks. Look at the old sailor who is sitting on the steps doing some carving. Look at the shark's jawbone above the door. Now talk to the old sailor about everything that you are able. At the end of the conversation go across and talk to the shifty looking character. Make sure that you accuse him of being a drug dealer and, when you leave him he should give you some sleeping powder. Enter the Inn. Inside the Inn, talk to the old Viking sitting by the table. At the end of the conversation you will be able to give him the slippers. If you have completed all these tasks, you should be able to leave the Inn and watch the old sailor go to sleep. When he does, you may go to him and pick up his knife. Now go to the Jail. Outside Jail. Talk to Arver. Keep talking and use all of the dialogue choices. Now talk to him again and you will get his cornflake box. Examine this in your inventory and you see that there is a crown on the back. Use the knife to cut it out, pick up the poetry book and go to the Smithy. Smithy's At the Smithy's use the knife to cut the wire from the telephone exchange and use it on the crown in your inventory. Now pick up the glove that is lying by the anvil. When you have the glove go to Madame Zyzs and talk to her. Find out where she buys her crystal balls. Now go to Elton's. Outside Elton's Elton is an inventor and he has an intercom by his front door. Use the intercom and you are offered three choices to identify yourself. Unfortunately, the intercom does not work correctly and you fail to gain entry. Keep trying and eventually you will get fed up and knock the door. You make your way inside. Inside Elton's. Pick up the blueprint by the door and look at it in your inventory. You can turn it over and see some instructions on how to slaughter a pig. Now pick up the quill pen and the inkpot. Examine the vacuum cleaner, pick it up and then go back outside. Outside Elton's. Examine the pile of junk by the door and pick up the metal bar. Now look up and examine the bras on the washing line. Talk to Louise about them and about all other subjects. You will eventually be asked to deliver the bras to their owner. When you have them in your inventory, join them together to make a bungee rope. Now go to the Farm. At the Farm. Use the sword on the sheep to get some wool. Try to show the blueprint to the pig. She is shy and runs away from you. Go and talk to the farmer. Talk about everything. This will take a fair while but the pig sees you talking to the farmer and gains confidence. The farmer will also give you a corncob. Go back and show the blueprint to the pig again. This time she runs from the farm and the farmer goes after her. Take the cloak and the straw from the scarecrow and the bag of corn from near the door. Now, in your inventory, put the straw into the pillow and the resulting full pillow into the cloak. Add the remaining items for your disguise, the nose, the crown then watch the video as you play the part of the King and gain another week to clear your Grandfather before he is executed. At Home. You are now back at your house so go to the garden and use the vacuum cleaner on the bees. You automatically get some honey and some bees wax. Now return to the town and go to the Docks. The Docks. Use the glove on the barrel of tar and then use the tar on the sack. Now use the wool on the tar-covered sack. Go into the Inn and use the beeswax on the Viking's key to make an impression. Pick up the clean napkin from the table and the lipstick stained one from the floor. Mr Davenport should be in the Inn so talk to him and he will give you a clue as to where to get a crystal ball. While you are in the town, go up the tower to Crazy Pete and the cannon. Put the clean napkin over the front sight of the cannon. This has a picture of the ship on it and Crazy Pete thinks that the Vikings are coming and starts firing wildly out to sea. Saul will join you at the top of the tower. Take this opportunity to go down and back to Saul's shoe shop. Pick up the drive belt from the sewing machine and go to The Bridge. The Bridge. Before you do anything else, use the quill pen in your inventory on the inkbottle and then on the poetry book. You will write a love poem on the lipstick stained napkin. Now talk to the guard. Make sure that you ask him about his helmet. He tells you that he has been studying under Master Lee. Talk to him about boredom and about girls. He will eventually tell you that he fancies Sarah from the Inn. Now you can give him the napkin with the poem on it. He leaves to meet Sarah and you are free to open the gate and go to Lenny's Cave Shop. Cave Shop. Talk to Lenny about not being a spy and about crystal balls. Eventually, he will tell you how much they are. You haven't enough money so leave and go back to town. Go outside Elton's ands swap the fake dog for the real one. Now go inside Elton's. Inside Elton's. Talk to Elton and try to use the time machine closet on the right hand side. He will stop you. Ask him to demonstrate it for you. He will not want to at first but if you tell him that you don't believe that it will work and use the most complicated reasons why not, he will eventually agree to show you. He tells the robot to move some of the boxes but it breaks down. Use the drive belt from the sewing machine on the robot and all will be well. Elton goes into the time machine. Pick up the broken spring from the floor by the robot and leave. Go to the Blacksmith's Shop. Give the key impression and the dog to the blacksmith and he will make you a key for the Viking's Tower. Now go to the Tower. Viking's Tower. Talk to the guard and keep asking him what would happen if.? Next, taunt him about his slowness. He will think of various ways to get down the tower quickly one of which is a bungee rope. Give him the bungee rope from your inventory and he will try it out entangling himself in the process. You will now be able to use the key to unlock the door and go inside. Here you will get some money for the crystal ball and a ticket to the Viking Slave Ball. Now leave and go to the Cave Shop. Try to buy a crystal ball. Larry manages to break them all and gives you a crowbar instead. Leave the cave and go to the Bridge where you should go beneath the bridge and get the wooden cannon balls from the water. Use them with the metal bar in your inventory to make a barbell weight. Now go through the door and talk to Lipton about his military campaigns and about the special un-named tea. You discover that he needs some sweetener and a fine filter for his tea. Leave his house and go to the town. Visit the Jail.. ...We'll go there next issue! - o -
