DRACULA - RESURRECTION Solution by Peter Clark After the starting scenes you will be outside the Golden Crown Inn. Go inside and talk to the landlady and the man sitting by the table about the castle. Leave the Inn and follow the sign for the bridge until you get to the sign for the Cemetery. Follow the path to the Cemetery and the Cross. You have to visit both but it doesn't matter in which order. At the Cross, go behind it and pick up the slingshot. At the Cemetery, go through the gate to the back of the cemetery and forward to where you find the shed. Take the pick that is leaning against the shed. Go back towards the gate and to the left to where you see some swirling blue lights. Use the pick on the lights and you will uncover the Dragon Ring. Collect the ring and make your way back to the Inn. Ask Micha and Barina about both the ring and the slingshot. Micha will tell you that the slingshot can be used to kill birds. Leave the Inn and make your way to the Lake. The sign reads LACUS. Here you will find a cabin with a man guarding it. He will tell you to go away. Go towards the oak tree and climb it. Use the slingshot on the birds that you see. The man at the cabin will go and see what is causing the noise and you will be able to go back down the tree and back to the cabin. There is a club leaning against the front of the cabin so take this and use it on the man by the cabin. Now turn right and pick up the flute from the open barrel. Out on the pier you will find a knife sticking in another barrel. Take this and return to the Inn and ask Micha and Barina about the flute. You will be told about the code used to call Dracula's henchmen. Now you can investigate the Bedroom and the Basement. In the basement open the cupboard and take the telescope. Go up the stairs to the Bedroom and move the chest. Now you can stand on the chest and find a doorknob on one of the rafters. Use the knob on the trapdoor to your left. This leads to the loft. Here you see a large black crown held up by rope and a black tripod. Use the telescope on the tripod and look through it. You will see one of Dracula's henchmen warming his hands by the bridge. Use the flute on him and when he comes to the Inn, use the knife on the rope holding the crown so that it falls on him. Go back to the bedroom and Barina will arrive and tell you that she has locked the doors to the Inn. You cannot go out through the front door so go out onto the balcony and down through the hole. Go to the knocked out henchman and take the keys from his belt. Now make your way to the bridge. On your way you should notice an old well. At the bridge, try to cross it. It is too weak and it collapses. You will have to find another way. Go back to the well and use the small key from the henchman's belt on the cover. Enter the well and follow the passage along and up the stairs. Pick up the lamp here then go back down the stairs and turn right towards the dark corner. Move the cursor around here until you get the magnifying glass symbol and see a hook. Hang the lamp on this hook and pick up the grappling hook that you now see. Return to the Inn and use the grappling hook to get back up through the hole in the balcony to the Bedroom. Go back down to the bar and talk to Micha and Barina about the bridge and the lake. Barina will tell you about a secret passage in the cellar and give you a key for the cabinet near the bar. Open the drawer and take the lighter. Read the diary that is in the drawer. Go down into the basement again and use the lighter on the candle at the top of the stairs. Go down the stairs and into the corner under the candle where you see a barrel. On the far side of the barrel use the rusty key on it and then use the dragon ring on the revealed mechanism. You find yourself in a tunnel. Go along until you get to the mine. The way forward is blocked by rocks, so leave by the door at the end by using your dragon ring on it. Go to the cabin by the lake and use the key to open the door. Inside, go forward to the stack of barrels and remove the crowbar that is holding them in place. They roll forward revealing a small lift. Enter the lift and turn around to operate the switch. As the lift begins to move, one of Dracula's henchmen cuts the rope and you fall into the mine. The Mine. Go forward then left and use the crowbar on the chain. Some of the supporting timbers will fall. Pick up one of these and use it to cross over the gap to the opening in the rock wall opposite. In front of you is a large pile of rocks. Use the crowbar on them and a skeleton is revealed. Pick up one of the arms. Use the lighter on the old oil lamp that is hanging from the bars. Use the skeleton arm to reach in and pick up the iron bar with loops at each end. Now make your way down into the mine and you will come to another broken bridge. Go forward as far you are able then use the iron bar on the chain to get across. There is a gate here but you cannot open it so continue down the narrow path to the bottom of the mine. Find the working mine cart on the top of the track to the right and go behind it. On the left of the cart you will find a lever. Pull this and you take a ride into the mine. When the cart stops, go forward and look up at the pulley. Take the "S" shaped hook from it and go back down to the cart room by turning left at the table. Find the cart that is off the track and to its left you should see a lever. Use the "S" hook on it then pull it to change the points. Go back to the cart that you took the ride in and pull the lever to enjoy another ride. You will automatically jump from the cart just before it smashes together with the oil drum that you had on board. Go forward and look down on the floor to your left. In the semi darkness you will find another lamp. Light it with the lighter and then pick it up. You cannot go across the circular opening so go back and move the old door near where you jumped from the cart. Follow the passage behind it into a small room where you will see a mechanism for raising the rail racks across the pit. Use your dragon ring on the mechanism and then return and cross over the circular pit. Go to your right on the far side and up the narrow stairs. Pull the lever and you will get an aerial ride into the castle. You do not arrive unseen however. The Castle. Go forward through the graveyard to the entry on the right. Go down the spiral steps and use the dragon ring on the lock to the left of the cell door. Enter the room and go round as far as you can, lighting the oil lamp on your left. You will meet with Dorko. Ask her about Mina and she will tell you to bring her an amulet. Before that, you will need to find the Medal of the Dragon Brotherhood. This is the key that will unlock the system. She knows how to make it work. Go back to the spiral steps. This time go up. You will discover that you cannot open the door. Turn around and you will see Dorko. She will open the door for you. You will be in the Great Hall. Go across the centre area towards the arched foyer to the left of the main staircase. Take the key from the door. Go back out and up the main staircase through the door at the top of the stairs. Turn right and go down a small corridor and through a door on the left that leads to Dracula's Bedroom. In the bedroom, look at the small ball on the pedestal in the centre of the room. Pick it up then go to the trunk on the far side of the bed and look inside. Take the picture and the gem. Go to the door that you came in by and put the picture on the wall to its right. Look at the picture and then leave the room using the door that you didn't use to enter. This will take you to the Balcony above the Castle Library. Go to the right and into the room at the end of the row of shelves. Inside you will find a mechanism that will raise the chandelier. Move the handle to raise it. Leave the room, go left and forward until you see a ladder. Look up to the top of the ladder and a letter will fall down. It is a warning from Dracula. At the top of the ladder is an aperture that will not stay open. There is also a lever that moves the ladder. Use the lever and, when the ladder stops moving, come down and go left as far as you can. Look at the little oval discs that are fixed to the edges of the shelves. One of them will give you a Magnifying Glass cursor. Open the aperture and place the gem in it. Return to the place where the ladder originally was and try to open the aperture here again. This time it stays open and a beam of light should be projected towards the ornate desk on the far side of the room. Go to the desk and click the cursor on the centre of the desk. This will open a panel showing pictures of the Brotherhood of the Dragon. Back out of the close-up and click on the desk just below the roll top. A drawer will open and you should take the plaque, the medal, the key and the cross in a circle. Now we must go and find Dorko. Leave via the large door at the end of the Library. Turn right and go towards where the chandelier was raised. Go through the door in the corner and down a long corridor and use the key that you took from the old door on the door that leads to the Cemetery. Go down the steps and across to the entrance on the right. Go down the spiral stairs to Dorko's cell. Talk to Dorko about everything. Now you must get back into the Castle. Go back from the cell and up the stone steps with the wolves at the base. Go back down to the wrecked central room of the castle and look for a pile of rubble near the pillars. Under a shield, you will find a gauntlet. Pick this up then go up the main staircase back into Dracula's Bedroom. Put the crystal ball back on the pedestal and you will see the picture and the mirror. Go to the right then turn and look back at the pedestal. You should get a magnifying glass cursor low down on the pedestal. Examine this and you find a drawer. Open it and look at the cards inside. These are a clue for the mirror puzzle. Leave the pedestal and turn round to look at the mirror. Click on it and you see the signs of the Zodiac. Click on the three signs that you saw in the crystal ball, Leo, Virgo and Aires. A secret door will open. Go through this and use the Dragon Ring on the mechanism at the end. Another drawer will open beneath the stone dragon revealing a small sword. Take the sword, return to the locking mechanism and put the sword in the slot. Pull down on the sword and then use the gauntlet on the mouth that opens. Pull the ring and put the painted plaque of St George in the spot above the desk. An ornate golden case will rise to reveal a Faberge Egg. Use the jewelled key on the picture of Dracula and take the gem and the key. Now retrieve the sword from the locking mechanism and return to the main Library. Go to the writing table and move the small globe. Use the ring on the map and move it so that the feet encircle the 40N and 25E. Note those numbers and that blue is for North and red for East. Go to the large clock, open the face and use the small key on it. This will open the picture of Dracula on the desk. Go there and put the Medal of the Dragon in that place. The markers on the globe will move. Go to the side of the globe where you get a close-up of it and set the co-ordinates to 40N and 25E. You can now open the globe. Inside you see a dragon. Use the sword on it and then use the gem on the hilt of the sword where you see the claws open. Am of light will shine out opening another secret passage. Follow this passage and look to your left to see a recess in the wall. Ignore this for now and go right and up the stairs. In the room at the top, go left and read the letter on the table the go right and move the book. A bottle of acid will fall from behind it. Take this and look at the lectern. Put the cross medallion in the carved out spot above the book. The lectern revolves revealing another medallion that you must pick up. Look at the top of the lectern and you will find a panel. Open the panel and you find the Ball Puzzle. You must arrange the balls so that they spell SATOR across the top row. The balls should then spell out ROTAS across the bottom row. Take the cross from the centre of the balls. Leave the room and go back to where you saw the recess in the wall. This can now be opened using the cross and lead into another part of the crypt. At the bottom of the stairs go left to the altar use the acid on the chain in the lower left of the picture. This will enable you to get the amulet from behind the grille. At this point three vampires will accost you. They threaten you but will not harm you yet. When they finish talking, go to the left of the altar and you will see a handle. Pull this and a window will open frightening the vampires away. Go to the far side of the room and put the cross in the recess. Another opening appears. Go through this opening and up the stairs. Dorko will appear and ask you for the amulet. Give it to her and she will leave you in a locked room with your wife, Mina. Go past Mina and feel your way around in the dark until you find another recess on the wall. Put the Angel medallion in the recess and then use the Dragon Ring on it to open a portal to the outside world. Return to Mina and pick her up. You can now watch the closing scenes as you escape with your wife having completed the adventure. - o -
