Tai-Eliel An MSN Group Investigated by Sue Back in April I received an email inviting me to join a new MSN group called Tal-Eliel. All you need, said the accompanying note from Bahumut, is an interest in role playing games or fantasy books and a flair for creative writing. Yes, this is roleplaying with a difference. There's no dice rolling or traditional character creation. One member of the group starts a storyline, then others join in and take it further if they want. There are different sections for forces of good, forces of evil and neutral parties. Each of these currently has one ongoing story. Bahumut started The Arena of Durn-Batt, The Cat Who Walks Alone began Evil Stirs, and Cayrok the dwarf began his own tale under the Neutral Parties section. However the Cat has also added some sections to the Arena story. All are of good quality. There are two more useful sections. The Bestiary contains details of any beasts introduced by members. So far there are two, the gryragon and a shurgaz. There's also an NPC section with four characters. Some areas are restricted to members only. These include a map and a few documents on warrior history and spells. The message boards have several discussion and information threads. Some are general, others are concerned with different aspects of the group, questing, character details and so forth. I haven't got the time to join a group like this though I belonged to a similar play-by-mail group many years ago. But if you've got any interest in what it offers, why not check it out at http://groups.msn.com/TaiEliel and join? - o -
