Editorial Hi all, I'm desperately trying to get SynTax out in the correct month. I think the email version will be delivered in time but the postal version might go out in November but arrive in December. Sorry about this. I've found it hard getting enough reviews done to fill the issue. Plus my latest Windows Made Easy deadline was early because of Christmas, and they gave me two more pages, so the last week has been taken up with that. Several of you have asked how my new newspaper career has been going ... not too well, sadly. The problem with uncommissioned newspaper work is that you only get paid for what's published. As all my work was done on spec, I found only a third of what I wrote was being published. I can't afford the time to do that. So I've had to rethink that side of my work and write less, to stand a chance of more of it being printed. I haven't done much more to Emperor as I've been concentrating on playing games I can use for SynTax. I've been impressed with the demo of Space Colony and might look out for a cheap copy in the new year. Uru, the latest Myst game, looks excellent too but might have to wait until I upgrade my PC. The one I call my 'fast' PC is only an Athlon 800mhz which isn't at all fast by current standards. It coped with the demo but would be more controllable if it was faster. I've updated the IF CD this issue and the Diary is available again this year for those who are interested. There's an order form in the magazine that can be printed and posted. Well, I think I'll stop there and finish the magazine off. I hope you all have a Happy Christmas. Good health and happiness for the New Year! Best wishes, Sue - o -
