In my Internet travels, I found www.xyzzy.com, a site dedicated 
to Colossal Cave. XYZZY is the magic word to be found in it and 
it has since been added as a command to many other games, as 
an Easter Egg for players to discover. 

The site has several sections:

Colossal Cave online: You can play the game in HTML format 
from a server in Canada. Movement uses compass keys and 
arrows on the screen. You can also click on links in the text to 
examine things. It isn't a perfect conversion. I found a location 
early on with TWO exits marked 'EXIT' - a tad confusing!

Colossal Cave XYZZY Page: everything you wanted to know 
about the magic word XYZZY. Where did it come from? What 
does it mean? Did you know it's part of a Windows 
Minesweeper cheat code? Lots of Americans have XYZZY 
number plates! A guy in California has one with PLUGH on it 
(another Colossal Cave word).

Colossal Cave Adventure Page - the history of the game, a 
Colossal forum, hints, downloads of different versions, maps, 
walkthroughs etc.
