Watermill 3D Screensaver From 3Planesoft - http://www.3planesoft.com/ Reviewed by Sue When working on one of my tutorials for Windows XP Made Easy, I was directed to this site. I was so fascinated that I went back later and had another look. The site is a selection of 3D screensavers. The first one I saw is called Watermill. Here's the official info about it. Watermill 3D Screensaver has been called "digital masterpiece", "heaven on your screen", and "one of the most beautiful screensavers ever created." But really - it's just a dream. A dream come true. If you are living in the concrete jungles and working in crammed dull offices, what you need is to break out and escape to the beautiful place you dreamed about when you were a child. A quiet far away place, where trees whisper something with their leaves and a small stream slowly flows playing with rays of sun. This is the place to gather your thoughts and quietly meditate. This is the place to reconcile with nature, to feel the grass, to hear the water, to smell the sky. You see old watermill that tells you about eternity with every revolution of its wheel. You feel joy and peace and understanding that life was created for moments like this one. So is Watermill 3D Screensaver a digital masterpiece, heaven on your screen and one of the most beautiful screensavers ever created? You bet. But what it really is - it's just your dream. Your dream come true. The display shows a watermill by a pond, the wheel turning as water flows over it from another pond above. This has a rowing boat bobbing on it and water also flows over a dam onto rocks below. The leaves on the trees move as the wind blows them, while the sun shines brightly through the branches and reflects on the water. You can even see the rocks in the bottom of the mill pond. The screensaver runs in segments of 15 seconds that use a different camera so you get different views of the building and surrounding woodland. It's the most atmospheric screensaver I've seen with excellent animation even on my clunky machine. 3Planesoft do other savers. Ancient Castle is also impressive. This vast building stands on a rocky outcrop by the sea. The rock splits a river into two, and each stream pours over a cataract into the sea. Part of the screensaver takes you INTO the castle too. There are ones with horror or fantasy themes (Haunted House and Fantasy Moon), a Lord of the Rings tribute (The One Ring), a galleon, a brass lantern, one for Christmas and many more - eleven in all. Most of the screensavers are time limited demos. After about a minute a nag screen covers part of the image. The registered versions cost $12.95 by electronic download. Brass Lantern and The One Ring are freeware. Do visit this site. I'm sure you'll be impressed too. - o -
